Using electrons instead of light in cryogenic electron microscopy. In this talk, Dr Dima Chirgadze from the Department of Biochemistry will discuss how scientists can use electrons to image and obtain three-dimensional pictures of biological molecules, such as proteins and DNA , that may help us to understand how our bodies work.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A session.

Dima Chirgadze is the Facility Manager for the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Facility at the Department of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge. Dima has lived and worked in Cambridge for over 20 years. He graduated from Moscow State University (Russia), where he studied physics, and obtained his PhD in Protein Crystallography from Birkbeck College, London.
